Welcome to the All Ohio Show Horse Organization web page! All Ohio Show Horse Organization is a non-profit organization formed to improve opportunities of the show horse and pony. This organization strives to improve the light horse and pony breeds and promote horse shows that are interesting and entertaining to the spectators. All Ohio Show Horse Organization was founded in the early 1960's for the "show" horse. This organization was formed initially for the American Saddlebreds, Arabians, Morgans, Tennessee Walking Horses, and Hackneys. The showbill at this time offered five gaited classes, parade classes and more classes for the American Saddlebreds and Hackneys. There were very little classes offered to the stock horses initially, which has changed over the years. Unlike today's shows, there were no contest classes included. In the rulebook it stated that no timed events would be permitted. Contest was not added until the late 1980's. This organization continues promoting the various breeds and disciplines and membership continues to grow with over 70 members. This volunteer-ran organization continues to sponsor shows and hosts an annual youth team tournament which draws youth from all parts of Ohio to compete. |
